Recently, I had the privilege of visiting The Boys National School, Scoil Bhríde Girls School, and Templebreedy National School to deliver a talk on a topic that touches so many families: the impact of smart devices on children, and how we as parents and carers can better support our young people in the digital world we live in today.

Over 100 parents joined us for an open and thoughtful discussion about the challenges and pressures that come with constant connectivity. It was truly heartening to see such a strong turnout, and I’m so grateful to everyone who came along and shared their questions and their experiences.

A special thank you to Seamus McGrath, Audrey Buckley, Councillor Patrick Donovan, and Jack White for taking the time to attend and show their support.

This level of engagement demonstrates the vital importance of this conversation. Off the back of this talk, there are now three more schools and parent groups exploring the ‘Smartphone-Free School’ initiative. A step that could help protect the mental health and well-being of so many children.

When communities come together like this to learn, share, and take action, real change happens.

If you’d like to bring this talk or a similar workshop to your school or organisation, we’d love to help — click here to book a workshop with us.
